Abstract

<p><span lang="EN-US">The article is based on the analysis of the results of monitoring to determine the need to increase the level of professional competence of specialists of the office of the Commissioners for Children’s Rights in the subjects of the Russian Federation, conducted within the framework of the state task of the Ministry of Education of Russia. The study provided information about the group of respondents themselves, their educational needs, the existing deficits of skills and abilities necessary for the effective exercise of authority, and the difficulties that specialists have to face in the course of their activities. 103 respondents took part in the survey. The results obtained make it possible to say that respondents are generally satisfied with the quality of the activities carried out to develop professional competencies, however, in a number of subjects, an insufficient number of them are carried out, programs do not disclose highly specialized topics, have an insufficient number of practice-oriented classes.</span></p>
