Abstract

The article examines the individual style peculiarities of the composer-miniaturist A. K. Lyadov, who is known for his versatile creative thinking, brilliant composer’s, literary and performing skills. Special attention is paid to harmonious interrelation of the musician’s personality reconstructed by the materials of epistolary heritage and his refined, laconic composer’s style. The analysis of A. K. Lyadov’s letters allows the author to re-evaluate the composer’s place and role in the history of music. Being a keeper of the Russian classical traditions, he was at the same time in tune with the key trends of the beginning of the XX century - symbolism, impressionism and “The World of Art (Mir Iskusstva)” movement. These artistic trends influenced greatly the evolution of his creative thinking.
