The article substantiates the conclusion that the correspondence of the characters in Pasternak’s novel is a plot-motivated complex multilayered system of written communication based on the family idea, expanded by a system of inter-textual links. В ДЖ отчетливо выделяется композиционный центр эпистолярия – фронтовые письма Юрия и Тони и ее прощальное письмо. В композиции сюжета «соединяются» и две семьи доктора, о которых говорится в двух смежных главах: письма «оттуда» словно дают толчок доктору Живаго для вдохновения, и уже на третий день из писем трем адресатам становится известно о его твердом намерении «заняться делами» [483].
