Abstract

The article analyzes the materials collected during the field ethnographic expedition organized in 2021 to study the sacred places of the Kazakhs in the Republic of Tajikistan. Based on the data collected during the expedition, 17 holy places were identified and included in the list in the regions of the Khatlon region of Tajikistan. Also, the expedition conducted a survey of local residents, and collected legends and traditions. When studying the monuments of Tajikistan, the birthplace of Muhammad Haidar Dulati - the city of Uratyube (Usurshana), the place of death of his grandfather Mahmud Sultan along with his children - the coast of the Khujand River were investigated. In addition, many sacred places have been identified, Kazakh cemeteries such as Kazakh mazar, Tashrabad, former Kazakh winter quarters,Tereklik ata, Kazakh cemetery Tameke mazar, Ak aulie, Mollaman winter hut, madrasah abdіқadir aulie, Shahidon cemetery (cemetery of martyrs). Also, the activities of one of the members of the government of Soviet Tajikistan, the first commissar of internal affairs, Abdulla Zharmukhamedov, were carefullystudied, written sources and photographs were found, studied and analyzed. The chronological framework of sacred objects and historical places of the Kazakh people in this country covers from the Middle Ages to the present day.
