Abstract

This systematic review introduces the notion “musical pronunciation” into the theory of choral pronunciation. The researchers’ attention is focused on analysing the conceptual aspect of the basic scientific and methodological works of outstanding choral conductors P. G. Chesnokov, G. A. Dmitrevsky, A. A. Egorov et al. concerning interpretation of the notions “diction”, “articulation” correlating with the notion “pronunciation”. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that for the first time the authors provide a comprehensive analysis of the choral terminology. The research findings are as follows: the notion “musical pronunciation” is defined in relation to choral performance.
