Abstract

The stripping model of stripping in a pair of contact binary neutron stars is one of the promising explanations for short gamma-ray bursts. For correct modeling of the mass transfer stage, a self-consistent accounting for the loss of angular momentum due to the emission of gravitational waves is required. The paper presents a new algorithm for calculating the back-reaction force of gravitational radiation in a pair of binary neutron stars. The calculation is implemented by the smoothed-particle hydrodynamics method (SPH).
