Abstract

This study analyzed the game contents focusing on the number of attempts made by foreigners and domestic players to finish the set in the set point during deuce situation in a male professional volleyball game. For this purpose, we analyzed 207 sets of deuce made out of 378 games for the male professional volleyball V-League from 2017 season to 3 season. For the analysis, we analyzed the s coring types of the two teams and performed the chi-square test, CMH(Cochran-Mantel-Haenszel) test, Breslow-Day test through frequency analysis on the attack types, receive results, and attack results. As a result, 58.6% of the teams who have reached 24 or 14 points first win the game, indicating a high probability of reversal. In order to win the set, the serving team must aim for the ace through the aggressive serve and use the serve to make the opponent’s receive inaccurate. In the receiving team, foreigners mainly use open and back attacks, and should try to reinforce blocking by predicting the attack type. In addition, even if the block is not successful, if the attack is brought through effective blocking and digging, an quick open attack or a back attack on foreigners with high scoring success will win.
