Abstract

Objectives This study attempted to examine the desirable direction of personality education that forms a positive self-view through recognition and cares for others in a social context where close human relationships and interactions are weakened, personal competition and efficient performance are emphasized.
 Methods To this end, literature study, critical interpretation, and discussion were conducted on Hornet's books, papers, and related prior studies.
 Results Recognition develops through love at home, rights in civil society, and solidarity in the state, and accordingly, self-confidence, self-respect, and self-esteem develop. Based on the relationship of recognition, our education should develop educational culture and institutions that embrace differences and diversity while encouraging solidarity and harmony. The unique values of various students should be equally respected and recognized.
 Conclusions Personality education should fundamentally foster the attitude and ability to recognize each other and self-recognition, and to ensure that emotional consideration, respect for rights, and social value are properly achieved at home, school, and society. In particular, when recognition is denied or ignored, personal and collective efforts are needed to recognize the reality and cause of the problem and restore damaged self-esteem again. Students should clearly recognize unfair neglect and disapproval by expressing and sharing the experience of neglect, and strive together to overcome it to develop empathy, solidarity, critical consciousness, and moral judgment.
