Abstract
The article discusses the possibilities of GIS technologies for the presentation of a gas pipeline network in electronic form for the purpose of effective management, as well as technological and environmental monitoring of facilities. Examples of technogenic cataclysms that occurred due to the lack of integration of spatial information systems with existing control systems are given. The tools of domestic and foreign GIS used by IT departments of companies in the energy complex are described.
