Abstract
The article considers the recreational potential of the territory of the suburban zone of the city of Tambov, as well as a set of natural factors and properties of this geographical environment, favorable for the formation and development of recreational complex. The physical and geographical position, natural conditions, relief, hydrography, climate and vegetation cover of the territory are analyzed, and natural resources for recreation and tourism are estimated. The main directions and opportunities for the development of the recreational complex, including the organization of ecological trails, the creation of recreation areas, the development of sports tourism and infrastructure have been identified.
