Abstract

The article examines the functional approach to defining the state as an institutional subject of economic legal relations. It was established that the state's monopolization of political power was always accompanied by a strengthening of the state's position in the social sphere of society. The conditions and characteristics of the state as an institutional subject of economic legal relations from the standpoint of a functional approach have been defined. Based on this, it was established that the theory of master economy dominated the interpretation of the state's powers in the economic sphere of society.
