Abstract

The article examines the analysis of the effectiveness of achieving certain goals of punishment in relation to juvenile offenders. The purpose of the study is to identify and consider problems related to the compliance of the goals of punishment defined by the criminal law, the specifics of personal development of this category of citizens, as well as to propose measures to resolve them. The author comes to the conclusion that it is necessary to revise the goals of punishment for juvenile offenders, justifying this by preventing the commission of crimes in the future and the re-socialization of young people in the process of execution of punishment, and proposes the introduction of provisions on this in the chapter of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation regulating the criminal liability of minors.
