Abstract
The article provides a detailed analysis of the measures of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus as member countries of the Union State of Russia and Belarus in the field of ensuring the security of the western border of the CIS region. The decisions and statements of senior officials of states and their military departments are considered in accordance with the Military Doctrine of the Union State in the face of critical security threats since the beginning of a Special military operation in Ukraine. The assessment of the escalating confrontation in international relations is given, as well as the completeness of measures taken in connection with the current situation to prevent various kinds of potential dangers. The analysis of the immediate plans of cooperation between Russia and Belarus in the field of development and implementation of allied security programs is carried out. Special attention is paid to the events related to the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of the Republic of Belarus and the deployment of a regional grouping of troops and forces of the Union State. The defensive nature of the ongoing measures of the Union State aimed at ensuring and strengthening the regional security system in order to achieve stability and peace in the context of emerging trends towards the establishment of a multipolar system of international relations is emphasized separately.
