Abstract

The article deals with an important aspect of the modernization of armed forces in the second half of the nineteenth century, in particular the rearmament of the armies of a number of Eastern states. That’s the same time the armies of Persia, the Ottoman Empire, the Bukhara emirate, China, Japan and Korea were renewed. This important element of military reform is being explored. At the same time, comparative and statistical methods of analysis of the peculiarities of the Russian Empire’s participation in the modernization of the armies of these countries were used. The main idea of the study is a comprehensive analysis of the Russian military department involvement in the supply of modern weapons at that time to the Eastern states.
