Abstract

The author considers the regional periodical press as a subject of public control over the judicial system of Western Siberia in the 1920s. The features and role of the periodical press in carrying historical research are viewed. Based on changes in the nature and content of periodical printing materials, two periods of the formation of printing as a means of control are distinguished. The nature of violations and shortcomings of the judicial system are analyzed and the interaction of periodical press bodies and courts in the course of official investigations are examined. The role of periodicals in the control of the judicial system is determined.
