Abstract
The article analyzes the special nature of informational activity in the logging industry in modern Russia. The conclusion is substantiated that such an economy arises and expands its scope when the Forest Code of Russia allows the state, instead of minimizing its “specific” interests, to realize them in a priority order compared to the goal of increasing the efficiency of the industry. The paper substantiates the need to modernize the logging industry. Factors of influence of the information economy are highlighted as key aspects influencing the efficiency of the work of logging industry. The key directions of logging industry development are defined – changes in forest legislation and management of the logging process.
