Abstract
The present article analyses the approaches of Russian courts to the matter of legal grounds for bringing advocates or other practicing lawyers to property liability towards their principals, and to the matter of what is legal assistance of improper quality. Based on such analysis of court practice some recommendations for lawyers and advocates on how to minimize their professional risks are formulated.
