Abstract

The article presents the author’s methodology for analyzing and evaluating rural-urban differences in the implementation of the Food Security Doctrine of the Russian Federation in terms of ensuring “in all localities of the country the possibility for residents to purchase food products or catering in volumes and assortment that meet the recommended rational consumption standards”. The dynamics of the contribution of consumer cooperation to the formation of grocery retail in rural areas, restrictions in the implementation of solvent demand of the rural population associated with the state of road transport infrastructure are considered. The proposals aimed at reducing the inequality of rural and urban populations in the physical availability of food are given.
