Abstract

Due to the imposition of sanctions against Russia, domestic agriculture is faced with the urgent task of providing the population with high-quality food of its own production, reducing the country’s dependence on imported supplies. Particular importance should be given to the development of a vegetable-growing subcomplex that provides the population with fresh vegetables and processed products throughout the year. The authors analyzed the state of the Russian vegetable growing industry. Using the example of the Saratov region, it was revealed that despite the good material and technical base and the level of infrastructure development in greenhouse vegetable growing, one of the main problems of producers of vegetables of protected soil is unstable yields. Yield volatility leads to an insufficient volume of output, which causes significant financial losses for agricultural producers. The key to solving this problem may be modern additional lighting systems, the use of which will help to stabilize the yield of cultivated crops and improve product quality. The article presents the comparative characteristics of greenhouse lamps, as well as the calculation of the economic efficiency of their implementation.
