Abstract

The research objective includes developing methodological techniques to improve efficiency of future translators’ literary translation training. The methodology is described by the example of the Russian folk tales translation. The study aims to identify universal and nationally specific elements in the fairy-tale text structure and to analyse translation variants. Scientific originality of the research involves developing methodological recommendations on work with literary texts while teaching the discipline “Literary Translation”. The research findings are as follows: the author substantiates the necessity of purposeful teaching future translators to work with a fiction text, proposes an algorithm of working with a literary text and a set of exercises to develop literary translation skills.
