Abstract

This article presents an analysis of existing problems and prospects of development of single-industry towns in Russia on the example of Togliatti. The article highlights the issues associated with the high dependence of single-industry towns on one or more industrial sectors. It considers addressing the lack of alternative sources of employment, reduction in population and infrastructure, as well as inefficient use of territories and resources. The author of the article considers potential ways to develop monocities through economic diversification, tourism and infrastructure development Opportunities to attract investment to create a business-friendly environment are considered. Overall, the article aims to raise the problem of monocities development in Russia and provide recommendations for creating effective strategies for their development.
