Abstract

Сhanging demands for the results of acquiring universal competencies dictate the necessity of using new educational technologies alongside with the tradi-tional methods in teaching English as a foreign language to the students of creative specialties at the higher educational institution of culture. The author proves the effectiveness of using the digital content of the English schools and original web-sites in the educational process which contribute to forming nec-essary communicative skills. The article illustrates the effectiveness of such a mixed format of activity that combines digital technologies and traditional forms of working over the class materials to stimulate the learners’ cognitive activity, develop their speech and thinking capacities, creative abilities.
