Abstract
The article discusses the problem of studying folklore of different peoples of Russia by primary school students. The article presents variants of tasks that orient students to analytical work with small genres of folklore, study of the features of the language of proverbs and sayings as a means of displaying the national way of thinking, features, life, customs, beliefs. Practical tasks allow to expand the horizons of the primary schoolchildren: to visualize the geographical location of the people, the connection of their way of life with nature, way of thinking, traditions, life values. Each task is supplemented with a methodological commentary for the teacher.
