Abstract
The appeal to the theme of hair decorations of one of the small peoples of Siberia – the Teleuts is relevant for several reasons. Firstly, both literary sources and materials from museum collections are distinguished by a certain degree of fragmentation. Secondly, in modern conditions, there is a need to reconstruct this unique object of ethnocultural heritage, lost in the environment of veryday life. This is confirmed by the results of the expedition to the Bachata Teleuts in August 2023 with the participation of the author of the article. Therefore, there is a need for an integrated pproach to the study of this phenomenon in the culture of an ethnic group. The purpose of the study was to determine the possibilities of returning the heritage object to its value lost under the influence of time. Among the tasks aimed at achieving the goal was an appeal to the intangible ethnic heritage – the analysis of technologies for making girlish decorations for braids and related semantics reflecting the mythological ideas of the people.
