Abstract

This study sought to examine the characteristics and forms of problem behavior in children with borderline intelligence and explore how parents can learn to recognize and deal with it. For this purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted with mothers of children with borderline intelligence, and the results were finally organized into 4 major categories and 10 subcategories as follows: 1) Characteristics and difficulties of the child, 2) Problem behavior Coping and reaction of parents and people around them, 3) Parents' concerns and difficulties, 4) Requests and suggestions. Through this study, the difficulties faced by parents of children with borderline intelligence as well as challenges and solutions for education and support for children with borderline intelligence were discussed, and the need for related follow-up research was confirmed.
