Abstract

This research investigates the features of TikTok News, a newly emerging form of news content, as well as the elements of TikTok news that affect users" reactions based on the number of views, likes, and comments. The survey"s findings indicate that individuals prefer hard news and anecdotally focused frameworks when it comes to content. Second, it was found that among the formal components, the source of the information—whether it was present or not—was a content aspect that affected how news was used. However, among the formal aspects, neither the image processing technique nor the caption"s attribute had any effect on any of the three TikTok metrics (view count, likes, or comments). Last but not least, the relationship between content and formal components had an impact on user response. This demonstrates that despite the fact that TikTok users are substantially distinct, they generally consume news similarly.
