Abstract

The study proposes an innovative technology of presowing treatment of seeds of agricultural crops, in particular, the encapsulation of an environmentally friendly domestic polymer preparation based on chitosan obtained from silkworm pupae. The UZChITAN preparation for seed encapsulation was developed and the effective molecular weight characteristics of chitosan for its production with improved performance properties were investigated, and the values of its optimal molecular weight of at least 70,000 and the degree of deacetylation of at least 60% have been revealed. It was experimentally confirmed that the sodium salt of carboxymethyl cellulose with a degree of polymerization of 500-750 and a degree of substitution of 0.8-1.0 provides the biological activity of the UZChITAN preparation. The drug has been tested in various cultivation zones; it contributes to an increase in germination energy, depending on crops, up to 10%, as well as the germination rate up to 20%. UZChITAN is included in the list of pesticides and agrochemicals approved for use in agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
