Abstract

The paper aims to justify experimentally the structural approach relevance when teaching translation of professionally oriented texts. The author analyses a textbook on foreign language for special purposes, describes the basic types of exercises, highlights methodology to work with professionally oriented vocabulary. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that the researcher proposes methodological recommendations for teaching the structural method of ecological terms translation. The research findings are as follows: the author proves that the process of teaching professionally oriented translation involves analysing the structure of terms and principles of their translation, performing exercises on multicomponent terms translation. Students should be able to differentiate types of terms and to apply appropriate translation techniques.
