Abstract

We analyze the novella “Chamber junker” and the short story “Pushkin at Gogol’s” by a Saratov writer D. M. Borisov, published in 1937. In these works the author tried to creatively comprehend the bright moments of the biography of the classical writers, but then he was subjected to severe ideological criticism. The article is devoted to the revision of those unfair assessments.
