Abstract

The article presents the successful experience of the “Skilful Class” program’s approbation at the State regional budgetary institution “Novgorod Regional Center for Psychological, Pedagogical, Medical and Social Assistance”. The experiment involved children of senior preschool age (6–7 years old) who do not attend preschool educational institutions. The successful mastering of general and individual skills was facilitated by the well-coordinated work of teachers and parents (legal representatives) of children, high motivation of children in mastering skills, the organization of a supportive environment both at the Center and at home. The realization of the “Skilful Class” program with the use of restorative practices contributed not only to the communicative and socio-emotional development of the children in the group but also laid a favorable basis for further formation of educational skills, successful adaptation of children to school.
