Abstract

The paper aims to identify specificity of the concept “fine/beautiful” in the Buryat language from the viewpoint of topological relevance and ethno-cultural influence (synonymic row гоё , сэбэр , һайхан ). The conducted research shows that the adjectives гоё and сэбэр belong to the conceptual field “Human Being” and are used only in relation to people, whereas the adjective һайхан can express beauty of both a human and an inanimate object. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that the author for the first time analyses representation of the concept “fine/beautiful” in the Buryat language from the topological viewpoint.
