Abstract

Fire safety in commercial buildings remains an important issue. The most common cause of fires in shopping and entertainment centers is a faulty wiring causing a short circuit. The aim of the article is to identify casual relationships of fires caused by a short circuit of electrical wiring in commercial buildings. To identify casual relationships between events causing fires, the event tree and incident tree methods were used. Possible causes and consequences of fires in shopping centers were analyzed. The risk analysis of fires as a result of a short circuit was carried out using the method. Security barriers have been developed to prevent the onset of heat, as well as to eliminate possible consequences. The paper analyzes possible causes of fires by building the tree of incidents, and simulates probable scenarios of dangerous events by building the tree of events. The bow tie model can be used for short-circuit wiring and safety barriers to reduce risks in commercial buildings.
