Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to verify the structural relationship among the job insecurity, sports confidence and exercise flow of Korean national athletes due to the postponement of the Asian Games based on path analysis.BR Methods: To accomplish the purpose of this study, an online survey was conducted with 206 Korean national team athletes who lived in Jincheon Athlete’s Village for about three months from April 2022 to June 2022. To analyze the data, SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 21.0 were used.BR Results: The results of the study are as follows; First, the job insecurity, perceived by the Korean national team, had a negative effect on Korean national athletes’ sports confidence (ability, social support, physical and mental preparation). Second, sports confidence (ability, social support, physical and mental preparation), perceived by the Korean National Team, had a positive effect in all areas except for the confidence in social support for the sports flow (cognitive flow and behavioral flow).BR Conclusion: In this study, in consideration of the great significance of elite sports in Korea, some suggestions for the management of the Korean National Team are presented. It is hoped that this research could lead to an improvement in the treatment of the Korean national team and athletes.
