Abstract

The article analyzes the impact that the processes of the society digitalization have on the traditional classroom-based system in the general education. Historical parallels between industrial revolutions and the stages of formation of this system are considered. Its significant characteristics are compared with new educational goals. The study shows that he development of modern digital educational tools significantly expands opportunities for individualization and improvement of the quality of education. It is noted that the role of a teacher in a modern school system needs to be reconsidered. The historical necessity of the evolutionary transformation of the classroom-based system through the integration of advanced digital technologies, tools and pedagogical approaches is substantiated. The conclusion is made about the importance of systemic changes at all levels of education for its successful modernization and adaptation to the realities of modern digital society preserving, at the same time, the best traditions of the national education.
