Abstract

The primary importance in the development of business ideas is the analysis of the available prospects for their implementation in specific social conditions, their significance for the population and their demand from them. The article attempts to consider the theoretical features of social assessment of the impact of a commer-cial enterprise project on the lives of citizens. It is emphasized that it is of a long-term nature and, due to the uncertainty of the objects of such analysis, has no uniform standards and criteria for implementation. In other words, social assessment should be carried out objectively in accordance with each individual case. The theo-retical framework of social assessment is also used in considering the implementation of the Starbucks Indus-trial Park project in Kunshan from several points of view. In particular, its social impact on the use of land and labor, as well as on the development of the coffee business in China and the spread of coffee culture are dis-cussed. In general, as a result of our assessment, it turns out that this project will not have a negative impact on the environment, and the salary system encourages its employees. The implementation of the project indicates that Starbucks is still trying to move the coffee business forward in the Chinese market, which is theoretically useful for the spread of coffee culture in China.
