Abstract

The article considers the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for teachers who teach Aviation English to pilots and air traffic controllers in higher education institutions or on the basis of accredited training organizations. Based on the analysis of legislative, regulatory and regulatory documents, guidelines for the implementation of ICAO standards in the educational process of countries that are members of the International Civil Aviation Organization, a qualifying portrait of a teacher of Aviation English was formed. Teacher qualifications are considered at three levels, and attention is focused not only on academic qualifications, but also on the teacher's aviation experience, experience in administrative support of language programs and the ability to use technical teaching aids and design teaching materials. The conclusion on expediency and necessity of use of these requirements for introduction in system of professional training of teachers of Aviation English in establishments of higher education of Ukraine is made.
