Abstract

The article gives an overview of the second international scientific-practical conference «Russian Deviantological Panorama: Theory and Practice» held under the auspices of the «Russian Journal of Deviantology» in September 2023. The conference aims at exchanging scientific knowledge on deviant behavior, analysis of modern methodologies of research and prevention of deviance, as well as bringing together scientists and practitioners working in this subject field.
 The conference was attended by over 100 participants from 49 organisations in Russia and abroad, including: representatives of the Shanghai Higher Police School of the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China, Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic named after Major General E. Aliyev, Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, educational and scientific organisations of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and Federal Penal System of Russia, Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, National Medical Research Centre of Psychiatry and Neurology named after V.M. Bekhterev of the Ministry of Health of Russia.
 The conference was organised in the form of a plenary and two sectional sessions on key aspects of deviant behavior research.
 The conference resulted in the discussion of academic and applied problems of deviant behavior, generalisation and dissemination of advanced methodologies, techniques and experience of deviance researchers, development and intensification of interaction between scientists and practitioners.
