Abstract

The development of a mathematical model for the grinding treatment of steel 95X18 with recommended grinding wheels, namely a wheel of silicon carbide green, el’bor wheel, diamond wheel is discussed. When studying the influence of grinding modes and grinding wheel materials during the processing of 95X18 steel on the roughness of the treated surface, a multifactorial experiment was carried out. The roughness of the treated surface was evaluated according to the Ra parameter, using a portable profilometer of the MarSurf PS1 model. Based on the data obtained, it is possible to choose the optimal cutting mode based on the required roughness of the treated surface. It has been established that in order to achieve a stable quality of the treated surface Ra 0.63, it is necessary to use a diamond wheel at cutting speeds from 10 to 25 m / s and low feed rates. The obtained regression equations showed that an increase in the cutting speed or a decrease in the feed led to a decrease in the roughness of the treated surfaces. The main provisions of the metal cutting technology and the mechanical engineering technology were used.
