Abstract
The explorations carried out by a collecting team over the territory of the northwestern Baikal region made it possible to study the diversity of crop wild relatives (CWR) in 37 natural habitats in Bayandayevsky, Kachugsky, Zhigalovsky, Kazachensky-Lensky, Olkhonsky and Ekhirit-Bulagatsky districts of Irkutsk Province and the North Baikal district of the Republic of Buryatia. As a result, the areas richest in CWR species diversity were identified. Herbarium specimens and 102 seed and layering samples of 56 species from 23 genera representing wild relatives of fodder, legume, fruit, cereal and fiber crops were collected, including endemics listed in the Red Data Books of the Russian Federation, Irkutsk Province and the Republic of Buryatia.

В регионе произрастает большое число эндемиков, редких видов различного генеза и диких родичей культурных растений (ДРКР), представляющих интерес для хозяйственного использования. Обширность территории, труднодоступность многих районов до сих пор не позволили в полной мере изучить растительные ресурсы края. Продолжение изучения и мобилизация ценных образцов, форм и видов из природных растительных сообществ Прибайкалья позволит сохранить биоресурсы и расширить ассортимент культур, используемых человеком. Изучена растительность на северо-западе Прибайкалья и выявлены районы наиболее богатые по видовому составу ДРКР. Описано 37 фитоценозов, собрано 102 образца семян и отводков 56 видов (23 родов) диких родичей кормовых, зернобобовых, плодовых, зерновых и технических культур, в том числе 5 эндемиков, включенных в Красные книги РФ, Иркутской обл. Многие виды впервые пополнили коллекцию ВИР и заслуживают по своим ценным биологическим признакам интродукционного испытания и вовлечения в селекцию
