Abstract

The article provides an analysis of the development of the regulatory framework for social protec-tion of the population of the Russian Federation and the Kabardino-Balkaria in 2005–2021, shows the influence of the territorial features of the region’s economic development on the social securi-ty of the republic, and identifies the level of increase in the GRP produced in the Kabardino-Balkaria per capita. A comparative analysis was carried out in the field of social security of the population of the republic with the indicators of the Russian Federation and the North Caucasus Federal District. It has been established that the average per capita income of the population per month in the North Caucasian Federal District and Kabardino-Balkaria is lower than in Russia; the share of the population with cash incomes below the subsistence level in the total population of the Kabardino-Balkaria in 2021 was higher than the Russian average by 7.1%.
