Abstract
The purpose of the study is to characterise higher historical education development at Ussuriysk State Pedagogical Institute (USPI) from 1976 to 1991. The article examines history of the USPI faculties that trained history teachers and presents the main areas of their activities. Scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that it considers the process of higher historical education formation at the USPI using unpublished sources of the Municipal Public Institution “Archives of Ussuriysk City District”. As a result, the researchers have identified features of higher historical education development at the USPI, such as strong practical (pedagogical and local history) orientation, sequence of transformations.
