Abstract

The article examines the implementation of such “soft power” tools as language and education. Examples of “support” and “protection” of language in Russia and other countries are given. Education is one of the most effective tools of “soft power”, international practice is student mobility and admission of foreign students to study. The authors describe various forms of conducting classes with students for their integration into the Russian-speaking environment and acculturation. The article presents those approaches to working with foreign students that have a positive effect and demonstrate the implementation of the “soft power” policy. Thus, Russian language teachers actively use the excursion method in teaching Russian as a foreign language. Good results are obtained from working with foreign graduates who have now returned to their homeland and are employed in their specialty and have realized themselves professionally. The authors conclude that to implement the concept of “soft power” it is necessary to actively work with foreign graduates, promote the spread of the Russian language in the post-Soviet space, and expand the use of positive educational practices.
