Abstract

Every year, the number of victims with severe concomitant trauma, who need assistance in the intensive care unit is growing. Mortality and disability in this category of patients remain high due to both the severity of the injury and the development of life- threatening complications [1, 2]. One of such complications is fat embolism. To date, there is no specific treatment or specific prevention of this syndrome. The article presents the experience of managing a patient with a brain-damaged disease as a result of a fat embolism.
