Abstract
Slovakia is a country which was in practical terms affected by the refugees„ crisis in Europe in minimal degree. Only slightly more than one thousand foreign nationals altogether requested the asylum in Slovakia during the last five years (2015–2020) and approximately 220 of them were granted asylum. Despite this, the Slovak political actors included the migration issue into their political and electoral mobilization activities as a prevalent element constantly feeding the antimigrant sentiment among the population. As a result the whole country‟s configuration of political scene changed that at the end complicated the cooperation between mainstream democratic political forces and enabled the right-wing extremist neo-fascist party to penetrate into the parliament. Author describes public and political discourse, trends in public opinion and party politics in Slovakia in the context of the last migration flow to Europe.

Особенно тема беженцев как ее составная часть, в различных контекстах была до 2015 года в странах Центральной Европы относительно малозаметной как с точки зрения общественного интереса и влияния на ценностные ориентации и идеологические предпочтения населения, так и отношения к ней со стороны политических партий.
