Abstract

The study aims to summarise the expanding practical experience of exhibition activities related to the activation of students’ independence in the conditions of the Chinese system of art and pedagogical education. The paper discusses projects focused on the presentation of students’ and teachers’ achievements, as well as demonstrating the features of the training of future teacher artists through the lens of independence formation in their creative decisions. The scientific novelty lies in providing the general characteristics of the main options for organising and holding exhibitions in a number of the largest art and pedagogical universities of modern China as a means of creative independence formation among students. As a result, it has been shown that exhibitions in these universities are not yet systemic in nature, but are considered as a part of the educational process associated with the stimulation of creative thinking and initiative.
