Abstract
The article substantiates the structure of a dictionary entry in the contrastive dictionary of the Kuban Cossacks’ folk songs. The structure of the dictionary entry of the lexeme mother gives an idea about lexical and morphological paradigmatics, a derivational family (within the analysed lexicon), compatibility properties (syntagmatic aspect) and originality of usage (functional aspect) in the Kuban Cossacks’ songs in contrast with the South Russian and Ukrainian songs. Such a structure will allow the researchers of the Kuban ethnoculture not only to describe the linguistic features of the analysed lexeme, but also to reach understanding of the concept verbalized by the lexeme under consideration.
