Abstract

The article undertakes a theoretical and methodological substantiation of the category of “capital accumulation regime” (CAR) in Giovanni Arrighi’s conception. The definition of CAR is given. The composition of the attributes of the accumulation regime is identified and the content of a number of them is characterized in the context of the emerging Asian CAR with a more detailed disclosure of their features in China. It is hown that, having originated in the group of economies of East Asia, the new CAR is currently developing in China. The article examines the trends in the development of modern digital capitalism and their coverage in the scientific press. The situations of interpretation of the stages of the historical development of capitalism and the essence of its modern stage, which require correction, are considered. It is proved that modern “technocapitalism” continues to be capitalism, and optimism about the prospects for the future may still be exaggerated.
