Abstract

Statins are widely used in patients with cardiovascular disorders. However, the issue of the feasibility of prescribing the high-dose and medium-dose statins to elderly patients remains a matter of discussion. That is due to higher prevalence of the statin therapy side effects in this age group. The paper reports a clinical case of statin-induced myopathy, associated with the prolonged use of atorvastatin, in the elderly patient.
