Abstract

The purpose of this study is to publicize the importance of active leisure activities for the successful retirement life of the senior generation. The survey was conducted on seniors aged from 60 to 80 years old, residing in large cities including Busan and rural areas including Yeongcheon and Gyeongbuk, and whom have engaged in one or more leisure activities through welfare centers. The copies were distributed, and 164 valid copies were collected in Busan and 160 valid copies were collected in Yeongcheon. Through factor analysis: leisure activities was found to consist of three factors including learning and hobbies social and exchange activities, and daily leisure activities; quality of life consisted of two factors including life satisfaction and health satisfaction; and emotional well-being included positive emotions and negative emotions. The hypotheses of this study were founnd to be adopted or partially adopted at a meaningful level (less than 0.01), thus verifying the hypotheses of this study.
