Abstract

In the article the author reveals the essence of the concept of «leisure», substantiating the importance of this pedagogical definition; notes on their characteristic features. The essential orientation of leisure is defined as a specific aspect of students' leisure time, which expands opportunities for intellectual, spiritual, creative and physical development of the individual, satisfies personal interests and inclinations of the child, provides needs for communication, personal and individual self-expression. The researcher proves that leisure has significant potential, opportunities for the formation of various needs of the individual: moral, intellectual, physical, promotes educational and spiritual level of the individual, the implementation of only those leisure activities that meet the needs and desires and bring satisfaction to man in the process activities. Taking into account the peculiarities of leisure and leisure activities, the author identifies the following features: freedom of choice, without regulation and mentoring; voluntary participation; the desire to get positive, satisfaction with the process and the joy of success in the result (compensation); independence combined with responsibility; creativity and self-disclosure of their own capabilities. Using the existing experience of scientists, the researcher proposes a certain unification of the definition of leisure functions, which includes: recreational, communicative, social, creative, value-oriented, cognitive and educational and proves that the functional focus of leisure depends on the needs of society, general and special activities, the actual needs of each individual, which stimulate his activity in society and determine, in some way, the trajectory of success and satisfaction with life in general. The author emphasizes the value orientation of leisure, pointing to its proper organization, which develops and enriches the individual, reveals new secrets, providing the joy of knowledge, gives the opportunity to feel their own value in society, to be realized in life, understand the social significance of communication. negative environmental phenomena, protect yourself by mobilizing efforts for positive accomplishments.
